Your Time is Gonna Come
January 29, 2012
by Jason Gastrich

I'm comin' to your town to take it by storm
You know, I drank the fire and ate that worm
My bags are packed and I'm out the door
You know, I picked myself up off the floor

Cites set?
You bet.

So, let's dance. Let's sing. Let's fuck now.
You've waited, but you still remember how.

Time is running out, a decision must be made
It's better to burn out bright than to just fade

While they poison us with their examples
And go to CostCo just to eat the samples
They're busy poisoning with their words
And lining up with the mindless herds

Every new chapter is another start,
An opportunity to play another part
And show them your bleeding heart

100k is okay with me, you see
I know 100k, it was born into me
I was there before and I'm going back
Maybe I've been there all along

I never knew I'd actually return
It's time to focus and discern
I never knew I'd record a song
It's time for me to stay strong

You piss your life away if you want
I'm living like my hair was lit on fire
I don't believe tomorrow is guaranteed
I'm telling the truth, walking a wire

You can look at it all if you want
Let the chips fall where they may
You know not to shoot the messenger
But you still don't know what to say
Perhaps you should think and express
Yourself in your own, personal way

Pathology is hidden in sweet silence
If you unroot it, you'll find your remedy
Deal with it or it'll deal with you
Discover, define and make your melody

I'm but a vapor, but I'm not done
I won't let the freaks make me run
I'll keep my eyes up on the sun
But it still weighs on me a ton

This black cloud can't be over there, too
It'll be sunny, clear and totally brand new
I guess I was chosen, one of the few
Who gets it and knows what to do

We have an empowered generation
With the world at its fingertips
Science has doubled our lifespan
And we stick collagen in our lips

I'm pro-beauty and support your rights
You have a lot, don't turn out the lights
Look good, look great, until the end
But don't forget your soul, my friend

I come in peace and mean you no harm
I'll be here for a little while
But there's no reason for alarm

I don't want the world or what we had
I know that was the old path for us
I'm not coming to waste any time
So I won't fight or listen to you fuss

It's time to be directed and win here
We have to be smart, I will not fear
The world is our oyster as it was before
I'll be the megaphone while you roar
From the beautiful lakes and valleys
All the way to the golden sea shore

Your time is gonna come!
