Barack Obama and John Boehner

Many US tax breaks end at the end of 2012. They have been labeled the Bush tax cuts because they were implemented by President George W. Bush. Consequently, President Barack Obama (Democrat) and Speaker John Boehner (Republican) have to decide where to find this money. If they cannot cut programs and/or raise taxes, then taxes will automatically rise back to how they were before the cuts.

Aren't these pictures funny? I can almost hear them talking about the money they need for their poor programs. In essence, each of them are pitching their party's programs and desires to each other, up and down, different ways until one gives in and says ok. Systematically, they're going through all the possibilities and deciding what to do. Yesterday, Speaker Boehner said he agreed to increase taxes on everyone in America making over $1 million a year. This was a critical issue for Obama, so he will likely concede on a program or two desired by Boehner and they will reach their intended goal of not raising taxes (or at least not much) on most of America.
